Midea Recalls Certain GE Brand Dehumidifiers (limited 2007 and 2010 models) – November 2, 2016
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, GD Midea Air Conditioning Equipment Ltd. (Midea) has announced a voluntary recall of dehumidifiers manufactured by Midea, including certain older GE brand units.
Midea's recall includes 4.3 million dehumidifiers and over 50 brands, including approximately 54,800 GE brand dehumidifiers that Midea manufactured before 2011. There are no reports of injuries. Only the following GE brand dehumidifier models are included in the recall:
ADKW50LN, ADKW65LN, AHK50LKM1, AHK65LKM1, and AHM65LKM1
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dehumidifiers, unplug them and contact Midea for instructions on obtaining the CPSC-approved remedies. Consumers can determine if they own one of these dehumidifiers by locating the rating label. The rating label contains the model and serial number and is located on the back of the unit's case.
